SASIC Education
Educational program for Managers and other personnel at Sterile Supply units.
The Swedish educational program consists of four different areas (five credits each, equivalent to five weeks of full time study.)
The four areas are:
- Microbiology and infection control
- Decontamination, disinfection and sterilization
- Development and quality assurance
- Administration and management.
Organisation of the program:
During the term the students are gathered for lectures and seminars at the university at three occasions over three or four days, combined with educational visits. Between the taught programme students undertake to study literature and clinical studies at their working sites.
A clinical project, with a written paper linked to a relevant theme, is included as an examination in all four parts.
Extent of program:
After every approved part of the course a certificate is given. The conclusion of a twenty credit program entitles the student to a diploma.
The contents of the education:
The educational program is based upon the ESH core training program and complies with requirements set by the university board.
