Seminar Report

The 4th IHCC Seminar on Sterilization and Disinfection organized by the JAM Sterilization Research Institute in collaboration with the Mashhad University of Medical Sciences was held in Mashhad, Iran on September 15th and 16th, 2010.

416 health care workers including physicians, nurses, and CSSD staff participated in the seminar. Principles of sterilization, hand hygiene, cleaning methods, disinfection of endoscopes, packaging, monitoring of process, and international sterilization standards were the major topics of the seminar.

6 main lectures, 30 oral presentation, and 11 posters were presented during the seminar. Prof. Duygu Percin from Turkey represented DAS (Turkish Disinfection Antisepsis and Sterilization Association) and WFHSS and also gave 2 lectures. Participants were very interested in the panel discussion sessions.

The seminar was a great success.
